Once on-site, a variety of attractions at the convention center, both on the exhibit floor and the meeting rooms, serve to enhance traffic throughout the exhibit hall. On the exhibit floor, several special areas are featured to draw attendees year after year.

COMMUNITIES OF COLOR
New in 2005, this area of the exhibit floor celebrates the ethnic diversity of libraries, librarians, and the communities of color they serve. The wide range of products, publications and services on display will target materials from and for the traditionally underrepresented groups including Asian American, African American, Native American, Latinos, and Pacific Islanders.
LIVE! @ YOUR LIBRARY READING STAGE
The LIVE! @ your library Reading Stage is a literary extravaganza that has been captivating audiences at the ALA Annual Conference for more than a decade. A must-see event for many conference attendees, the LIVE! @ your library Reading Stage features a series of readings by best-selling and critically acclaimed authors and poets right on the exhibition floor. Past series have included Julia Alvarez, Geraldine Brooks, Pearl Cleage, Andrei Codrescu, Andre Dubus III, Stuart Dybek, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Patricia Henley, Khaled Hosseini, Edward P. Jones, Naomi Shihab Nye, and past U.S. Poets Laureate Robert Pinksy and Robert Hass.
