Emphasize Your Commitment to ALA–at every Midwinter Meeting over 10,000 attendees are offered a wide range of events and services that support their participation and provide enjoyment. As a sponsor of one of these activities, your organization will gain greater recognition for its support of ALA.
Sponsorship Benefits
- Recognition in the Midwinter Meeting Program which is distributed to all attendees.
- Your organization’s name or logo on all promotional materials related to the event or service.
- Your organization’s name or logo on any signage related to the event or service.
- Listing in the ALA Annual Reports.
Ruby Sponsorships
Message Center and Product Locator: Highly visible and very much used and appreciated by attendees. Includes 10 stations at Midwinter and 18 at Annual, plus printers. Stations include a sophisticated attendee–to–attendee messaging system and the interactive exhibit floor map and product locator. Your company's name will appear as one of the top names on the list and we can put your company's logo on the screens of the message center when they are not being used. Cost is $15,000 for Midwinter and $25,000 for Annual.
NEW!! Hot Spot Café: This is an area in the convention center where those attendees with wi–fi enabled laptops can sit and search the web or do their e–mail at no cost. However, in some convention centers the wifi will also be available in all the public areas and meeting rooms. Usually the cost to connect in a convention center is about $12.00 per day per person, so this will be seen as a real value to attendees. Sponsorship is $20,000/event. This is the newest, hottest thing at Conventions. Be part of it and make your company an ALA hero!!
Internet Room: High visibility, highly used and a perennial favorite of all attendees. Free computers plus free coffee each morning equals an area that doesn't stop jumping from the time it opens, till the time it closes. There are 18 computers at Midwinter and 24 at Annual. Sponsor can also provide cups or napkins with the company logo for the coffee or tent signs on the computers if they wish. Cost: $15,000 for Annual Conference and $10,000 for Midwinter.
Locator Map: This highly popular map includes the various programs, hotel and restaurant information and the exhibit floor plan. An interactive map on the web that has the exhibitor floor plan where an attendee can see where various booths are located and link to their websites supplements it. It also has a map of the city and when a hotel is clicked on, the attendee can see what restaurants or places of interest are near the hotel. ALA needs three sponsors, but presently only has one — H.W.Wilson. Past sponsors have received many, many compliments and thank yous for sponsoring the map. Your company will, too. Auditorium Speaker Series: Sponsor a speaker in this high profile and popular venue. Past speakers have included Anderson Cooper of CNN, Steven Covey, Henry Winkler, Cokie Roberts, Gloria Steinem and other exciting, intriguing and provocative individuals. Cost varies according to the speaker honorarium and expenses. Sponsorships start at $5,000. (Annual Conference only)
Scholarship Bash: Be a Bash sponsor and help insure the future of librarianship because proceeds for the Bash go to scholarships for future librarians, including Spectrum Scholarships. But this year part of the proceeds will also go to the Katrina Library Relief Fund, so your donation will do double duty. Plus you will get signage at the Scholarship Bash with your company's logo, VIP seating in the auditorium, acknowledgement of support on the ALA Bash Web page, and complimentary tickets based on your sponsorship level. Cost: $5,000 or $10,000. (Annual Conference only)
All Diamond and Ruby Sponsorships include Thank You Advertisements in Cognotes, Annual Conference Final Program and American Libraries; your company's logo on the screen at the Opening General Session and a thank you at the session from the ALA President as well as a thank you mention at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, plus a sign for your booth and ribbons for your booth personnel. Diamond Sponsorships also include a complete copy of the attendee survey results.
Sapphire Sponsorships
$1000–$5,000 — Recognition sponsorships that are not linked to any tangible Midwinter or Annual items. Choose the amount in $500 increments that fit your company's budget. Earn recognition at the Ribbon Cutting and mention in American Libraries, Cognotes and the Final Program, plus a nice sign for your booth. Choose either Midwinter or Annual. $4000, $4500 and $5,000 will receive recognition at both conferences and $5,000 will also receive ribbons for their booth staff.
