Library Product Spotlight Call for Proposals

The Exhibits Round Table is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals to participate in ALA/ERT’s Library Product Spotlight. The event will be held on the exhibit floor, during exhibition hours on Sunday June 29 and Monday June 30, 2008. The Library Product Spotlight will have the familiar elements of the Midwinter Technology Showcase. We firmly believe that with your company’s efforts ALA and ERT can make this a successful event.

Sessions will consist of a presentation on any given topic about your company’s products and services. There will be a total of twenty (20) companies selected. The sessions will be held in two theatres concurrently in 30-minute increments and with 10-minutes between each presenter for set/up and breakdown. There will be ten (10) sessions on Sunday and ten (10) sessions on Monday. Engaging topics, audience participation and giveaways are encouraged. Programs may be organized as demonstrations of an interactive nature. They may also be practical explanations of applications. This is an excellent opportunity for your company to provide continuing education for the information professional, as well as a wonderful marketing tool. Your company name and logo will also be feature d in the conference advertising regarding the Library Product Spotlight.

You are encouraged to promote the session to all meeting attendees by direct mail, signage, booth handouts, etc.

Selection is based on a first come first served basis. Exhibiting companies will be limited to ONE Spotlight presentation.

Due Date

Time slots will be assigned on a first come first served basis. Entries will be accepted via e-mail between 12:00pm (Noon) and 6:00pm Central Time on WEDNESDAY April 2, 2008. Companies will be notified of their selection and time slot by Monday April 7, 2008. Proposals will not be accepted outside of this time frame.

Guidelines for Participation:

  1. The Spotlight should feature products or services of significant interest to libraries and librarians.
  2. Each presentation must not exceed 30-minutes.
  3. Information must be submitted electronically via email to: pmurphy@ala.org
    • Subject line should be:  2008 ALA Vendor Product Spotlight Submission

The following information must be included:

  • Session Title
  • Objectives
  • Content Outline
  • Potential Speaker(s)
  • Primary Contact information (full mailing address, phone numbers/fax and email address.
  • Top two time slot choices
  • Please let us know if you will need Internet access for your presentation

Time Slots:

There will be a total of twenty (20) time slots offered over two days, ten (10) each day Sunday June 29, 2008 and Monday June 30, 2008. There will be two stages and presentations will run concurrently. These are the time slots offered:

Equipment

Each room wi|ll be equipped with a laptop computer, podium, a cordless microphone, sound system, Internet connection, data projector and screen. The theatres will be set for 100 attendees.

Selection and Cost

Companies selected will be charged a fee $600.00 to cover administrative and audiovisual costs. This fee is due and payable upon acceptance of the program.
